Two Features of the Logos
Philosophically one of the basic and fundamental aspects of every discussion about dialogue between west and east can be the explanation of the Logos. As far as I can see the category of logos is a common concept in the west and that part of the east that has mutual reading of and engagement with the west and particularly the philosophical west - oriented part of the east and not all parts of the east. If we accept this supposition I can say that Logos or this common factor in these two mentioned parts has both synthetic or global or communal and analytic or critic or individual features and not only one of them and we have not to reduce all of the conceptions only to one feature or dimension . In this case the dialogue becomes a problematic within each culture and also between them – for we have to pinpoint which feature of logos wants to dialogue with each other.
